Details on Our Holiday Weekend Tree Trimming and Open House

. Please join us next weekend as we kick off the holidays with our annual tree trimming on Saturday December 7, followed by a charity open house on Sunday December 8. The tree trimming will begin at 5pm on Saturday, and over the next few hours we’ll decorate the tree and enjoy some Christmas goodies and “holiday cheer” by the fireplace (as you can see from this photo, the tree is already in place and ready to be trimmed). Bring a donation of a non-perishable item for our local food pantry and we’ll give you a 10% discount of that night's stay. If you come for a night or two, you'll not only see the Blue Shutters decorated for the holidays -- you can do some shopping and check out the “Christmas on Cape Ann” holiday events that weekend. The open house -- which begins at 11am on Sunday and continues on until 3pm that afternoon – will spotlight the work of Por Cristo, a Massachusetts-based non-profit organization that has been helping the poor in Ecuador for the past 30 years. There’ll be some food and wine with a Latin American flair, but best of all -- Por Cristo will have for sale a collection of artisan-crafted sterling silver jewelry and items made from sustainable resources of the Amazonian rainforest and elsewhere in Ecuador. These items make great holiday gifts – and all of the proceeds from these sales go to support the work of Por Cristo. You’re invited to come to either of these special holiday events – or both!
